Pre-primaries open Tuesday, primaries return to previous schedule
Pre-primary schools were closed until now due to the heat wave.
Classes are starting from Tuesday in pre-primary schools as the intensity of heat subsides. Classes in primary schools will also start from 9 am as per the previous schedule.
Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, senior information officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, gave this information in a press release on Monday.
The press release said, "From next Sunday, all activities including classroom activities in all government primary schools, child welfare trust primary schools and non-formal education bureau learning centers will continue according to the 2024 academic year calendar."
The educational institution was supposed to open on April 21 after the Eid holiday. However, due to unbearable heat, school-college holidays were announced till April 27.
After this holiday, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education gave a new schedule for the opening of primary schools from April 28. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education had given instructions to start classes ahead of class activities. Class size was also reduced.
After classes started on April 28 and 29, there were reports of teachers and students falling ill from various schools in the country due to intense heat. Then the matter went to court.
The High Court ordered closure of classes in primary and secondary schools and madrasas till May 2 due to heat wave.
After that, primary and secondary school classes will start from Sunday.
Pre-primary schools were closed this entire time due to the heat wave. Classes are also starting in those classes on Tuesday.
